Sebastian Bourdais joines Cadillac GM Formula One team as the test and reserve driver.
Cadillac Racing proudly welcomes Sébastien Bourdais as our official Test and Reserve Driver for the upcoming season. With a wealth of experience across multiple disciplines, Bourdais brings invaluable knowledge to the team as we continue to push the limits of performance on the global racing stage.
A Career Built on Success
Bourdais is one of the most accomplished drivers in modern motorsport, with an extensive résumé spanning Formula 1, IndyCar, and endurance racing.
IndyCar Dominance – A four-time Champ Car World Series champion (2004-2007), Bourdais established himself as one of the most successful open-wheel drivers in North America, securing 37 wins and 34 pole positions in the series.
Formula 1 Experience – In 2008, he made the jump to Formula 1 with Scuderia Toro Rosso, competing in 27 races and scoring points in his debut season.
Endurance Racing Expertise – In recent years, Bourdais has become a key figure in endurance racing, with victories in events like the Rolex 24 at Daytona and strong performances in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. His experience with Cadillac’s IMSA program has made him a natural fit for this expanded role.
A Key Asset for Cadillac Racing
As Cadillac Racing continues to develop its high-performance race cars, Bourdais’ input will be crucial in refining setups, testing new components, and providing feedback to engineers. His extensive experience in both single-seaters and endurance prototypes gives him a unique perspective that will benefit the team throughout the season.
"I'm excited to take on this new role with Cadillac Racing," said Bourdais. "I've had great success with the brand in endurance racing, and I'm looking forward to contributing behind the scenes as the team continues to grow."
With Bourdais now part of our test and reserve lineup, Cadillac Racing is further strengthening its commitment to performance, innovation, and success on the track. Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare for the season ahead!
